Atchison Man Accepts Plea in Assault Case

 A 20 year old Atchison man could face prison time on an aggravated assault charge.

 Jacob Clem accepted a plea deal Friday in Atchison County Court which dismissed a criminal discharge of a firearm count.

 Clem was arrested on February 9th by Atchison Police for assaulting three individuals in the 1500 block of North 7th on January 29th.

 Clem also pled guilty to nine misdemeanor counts from separate incidents, including criminal restraint, criminal damage, domestic battery and six worthless checks.

 He is out on 20 thousand dollars bond and sentencing is scheduled for April 20th.

 Clem faces 11 to 34 months in prison for the agg assault charge, up to six months in jail with a mandatory 48 hours for the domestic battery count and up to a year in jail on the rest of the counts.
