The Missouri State Patrol will crack down on impaired drivers over the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
Patrol officials say impaired drivers contributed to nearly 30-percent of all fatal traffic crashes in Missouri last year, with 220 people killed by impaired drivers. They say 916 people were injured in alcohol-related crashes.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol will participate with other law enforcement agencies in an effort to arrest impaired drivers.
To accomplish that, the Patrol plans to set up sobriety checkpoints and conduct D-W-I saturation programs to keep impaired drivers of the roads.
The crackdown is planned from this Friday, March 16th through Sunday, March 18th. You can report drunk drivers by calling the State Patrol’s emergency telephone numbers, 1-800-525-5555, or *55 via cellular phone.
