Norma F. Spiker, 86, of Wetmore, KS passed away August 16, 2014 at Eastridge Nursing Home in Centralia. She was born March 13, 1928 in Horton, KS, the daughter of Ralph C. and Vera C. (Duckers) Grubb.

Norma graduated from Wetmore High School. She worked as a bank teller for over 20 years at 1st National Bank in Wetmore and was a CMA nurse for area nursing homes. Norma was a member of the Wetmore United Methodist Church, life member of American Legion Auxiliary in Wetmore and V.F.W. Auxiliary in Holton.

She married Melvin “Pete” Spiker on January 12, 1947 in Holton. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1997. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Ann Spiker in 1951; a son, Patrick Ralph Spiker in 1952 and 3 sisters, Doris Maxine, Donis Irene and Ruth Arlene.

Survivors include a son Micheal Spiker of Wetmore, KS; 2 sisters, Carol Ann Horton of Topeka, KS and Nancy Mae Sullivan of Springfield, MO; 7 grandchildren, Jared Spiker, Paula Henry, Dawna O’Dell, Janette Fund, Jennifer Penix, J.R. Spiker and John Cochran and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Wetmore Cemetery.
