 BYRON HARDER

Byron Harder, 78, of Firth passed away at his home in Firth, Nebraska. 

Byron was born to Max and Lillian Harder, Sr. on March 25, 1936 at Crab Orchard, Nebraska. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1952.

Byron served his country in the U.S. Navy from January 14, 1955 until his discharge from active service on January 13, 1959, when he transferred to the reserves and served until January 13, 1963. 

He worked as a conductor for Burlington Northern Railroad. 

Byron is survived by his children, Janet Newmyer and husband David of Wilber, Jay Harder of Pickrell and Jeff Harder and wife Theresa of Gretna, 11 grandchildren, Shelley Harder of Lincoln, Jonathan Harder of Lincoln, Zachary Harder of Lincoln, Benjamin Harder of K.C, MO, Jacob Harder of Lincoln, Courtney Harder of Lincoln, Byron Harder of Gretna, Christopher Harder of Gretna, Randy Newmyer and wife Ashley of Lincoln, Mark Newmyer and fiancé Erika of Lincoln and Sam Newmyer of Hampton, 2 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Edus Harder, Crab Orchard and nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Lillian Harder Sr, brother, Max Jr., sisters, Janet Crosier and Ina Swanson and brothers-in-law, Bob Crosier and Jack Swanson.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Thurs. Sept.18, 2014 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh. Register book signing: Wherry Mortuary, Tecumseh, Wed.
