Mildred Louise “Midge” Watson, 94, of Robinson, died Wednesday morning, October 22, 2014, at her home.

Midge was born December 5, 1919, at Robinson, one of five children born to the late Oscar and Mabel Auxier Lewis and was a lifelong resident of Robinson. Mrs. Watson attended Robinson United Methodist Church through the years and the Red Hat Club. Midge was very dedicated member of the Hedrick-Moll Post #148, Robinson American Legion. The Legion was very important to her as her four brothers were in the service, with one being killed in action. Mildred was also an avid baseball fan, and enjoyed KU basketball.

She was married to Ernest “Pete” Watson March 29, 1935, at Troy. He died January 28, 1995. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Alice Smith in 2002; four brothers: Charles, Marvin, Albert, and Robert.

Survivors include a daughter Rose (Marty) Fischer of Garden City, MO; 4 grandchildren: Paul, Scott. Angie, and Sheri; 8 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, October 25, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha. Dixie Westervelt will officiate. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Robinson.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Friday. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to services Saturday.
