Truman E. Hug

Truman E. Hug, 93, of rural Mayetta, died Friday, January 16, 2015 at Medicalodges Jackson County nursing home in Holton.
He was born March 24, 1921 near Soldier, the son of Albert and Esther Partridge Hug.  He graduated from Mayetta High School.
Truman was a farmer and a stockman all his life, having dairy cattle, beef and hogs.  He also worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka.
He was a member of the Denison Reformed Presbyterian Church and a deacon at the church.
Truman married Helen M. McCrory on August 18, 1945 at Denison.  She survives.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Theo Hamer.
Other survivors include a son, Darrell Hug and wife Ellen, Mayetta; two daughters, Phyllis Phillips and husband Ralph, Mayetta and Yvonne Hamer, Denison; a brother, Keith Hug, Mayetta; one sister, Dorothy Bausch, Hoyt; twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, with two more on the way, and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 20th at the Denison Reformed Presbyterian Church.  Burial will follow in the Denison Cemetery.  Truman will lie in state after 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton where family and friends will meet from 6:00 to 8:00 on Monday.  Memorials are suggested to the Denison Reformed Presbyterian Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 1034, Holton, KS  66436.  On-line condolences may be made at chapeloaksfuneralhome.com
