Dolores Diane Hutfles, 87, of Kelly, Kansas, died Friday morning, January 16, 2015, at Life Care Center of Seneca.
Dolores was born on October 1, 1927, in Pawnee, Nebraska, to Aaron and Hulda (Giesel) Moser. She grew up near Bern, Kansas, and attended Excelsior Country School and Bern High School. After high school she delighted in helping to care for her nieces and nephews and also worked at a dress factory in Holton for several years.
On February 7, 1959, she married Elmer Hutfles of Kelly, Kansas, joining the Catholic faith and becoming a member of St. Bede’s Catholic Church in Kelly. She and Elmer farmed the Hutfles family farm.  In 2007, Dolores’s health necessitated her move to Life Care Center.  Elmer joined her there in 2011 and passed away on November 8, 2013.
Dolores is survived by children Eileen (Damian) Gronniger of Denton, Kansas, and Stanley Hutfles of Seneca; granddaughter, Jackie (Kenny) Peden of Troy; great grandson, Kurt Peden; sister, Beverly Wenger of Sabetha; brother, Robert Moser of Yuma, Arizona; sister-in-law Judy (Donald) Moser, of Wichita; many nieces and nephews; and close friend Helen Stallbaumer with whom she roomed at Life Care for the seven years of her stay there.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, Loree Strahm-Rokey and Donald Moser.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM, January 19, 2015, at St. Bede’s Catholic Church in Kelly. The burial will be in the church cemetery. A rosary will be prayed at 4 PM Sunday, January 18th, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.
Memorials may be given for St. Bede’s Church or St. Bede's Cemetery, and sent in care of the family.
