Ida Mae (Merz) Smith, 69, of Holton, KS passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Holton Community Hospital. She was born June 10, 1945 in Horton, KS the daughter of Floyd Hoffman and Helen Juanita (Henry) Merz.

Ida Mae graduated from Horton High School in 1963. She had lived in Holton since 1971. Ida Mae was a Certified Nurse Aide for Jackson County Home Health. She was baptized and was a member of the First Christian Church in Horton.

Ida Mae married Thomas Paul Smith on October 13, 1964 in Atchison, KS. He survives of the home. Other survivors include a son, Paul H. Smith (Chantel) of Topeka, KS; a sister, Glenda Roger (Larry) of Horton, KS and 3 grandchildren, Jaiden, Kahler and Ravaya.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Evelyn Gore and 4 brothers, Floyd Junior, Charles, Alvin and Wayne Merz.

Memorial Service will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until service time.
