Pearl L. DeVoll

Pearl L. DeVoll, 95, of Hiawatha, died Wednesday evening, February 12, 2015, at the Hiawatha Community Hospital.

She was born on a farm near Goff, October 15, 1919, one of three children of William and Vida Foster DeVoll and attended several of the county schools in and around Goff.  Her father died when she was 7 years of age and her mother married Paul Schafer.  They all made their home on the Powhattan farm where she became their caregivers until their deaths, upon which she moved to Hiawatha to make her home.

Pearl attended the Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church in Hiawatha.

She is survived by several good friends who cared and looked after her continually.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; and a sister Opal DeVoll Weikle.

Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, at the Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church in Hiawatha.  Don Goatley and Pastor James Ferris will officiate.  Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Goff.

Friends may call at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha after 12 noon Monday until noon Tuesday.
