Evelyn E. Gatz, 90, of Falls City, NE, passed away February 13, 2015 at Falls City. She was born December 8, 1924 at Falls City to the late Elmer and Amelia (Zimmerman) Scheitel.

On May 8, 1944 she married Wesley Gatz at Hiawatha, KS. He passed away September 18, 2005.

Evelyn attended the Red Brick School house in District 53 as a child and when married the couple established their home northeast of Falls City. In 1955 they moved northwest of Falls City and lived there until moving into Falls City in 1999. She was a lifetime member of Zion United Church of Christ, Women’s Fellowship of her church, past Sunday school teacher, past 4-H extension Board member, and a member of BPO Does Drove #56 of Falls City.

Evelyn is survived by her sons, Wayne and his wife Sherry of Falls City, Larry and his wife Vicky of Omaha, NE, Dale and his partner Anton Delgodo of Denver, CO, Glen and his partner Rodney Thompson of Kearney, NE, brother, Marvin Scheitel and his wife Pat of Falls City, sister, Lucille Yoesel and her husband Ken of Sabetha, KS, eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, great-grandchild, Darius Schulenberg, husband and a brother, Wilbur Scheitel.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Zion United Church of Christ with Reverend Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. Interment will be in Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
