Florence Jane (Bien) Jenkins, 86, of Sabetha, Kansas passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015.

Florence was born August 24, 1928 in Sabetha, Kansas, the daughter of Lloyd and Caroline (Watts) Bien. She graduated from Sabetha High School in 1946.  Florence married James Jenkins on March 17, 1946 in Marysville, Kansas. She graduated as an LPN from Atchison School of Nursing in April of 1967.  She retired from Falls City Hospital.

She was a member of Grace Bible Church in Morrill, Kansas.  Florence was a life member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary and held many office on the state and national levels in the LPN Association.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James and granddaughter, Dawn.    She is survived by her sister, Lilian Zimmerman of Sabetha, KS and brother, Lloyd “Bud” (Norma) Bien of New Brussels, TX; her sons, James (Eva) of Bonner Springs, Ralph (Chris) of Marysville, KS, and David (Sylvia) of New Salem, NC; grandchildren, Steven, Caroline, Jared, Seth, Ethan, John, J.R.,  David, Peter and Kalee, and  great-grandchildren April and Micah. 

Funeral service is Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha.  The family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m. until service time.  Memorial contributions may be left to the Grace Bible Church, sent in care of the funeral home, 823 Virginia, Sabetha, KS 66534. www.popkessmortuaries.com
