Stephen Douglas "Sha-Wah-Sa" Ramirez Sr., 48, of Hiawatha, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the Hiawatha Community Hospital. He was born on August 14, 1966 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of John and Charlene Green Ramirez. Steve worked for Wilde Toole in Hiawatha for the last eleven years. He was a member of the Kickapoo Tribe. On August 25, 2001 he married Donna Nioce in Whiting, Kansas. Survivors include, his wife Donna Ramirez of the home, his mother, Charlene Ramirez Whitebird of Horton, Kansas; two daughters, Stevie Jo Ramirez and Marcine Wewenis both of Horton, Kansas; son, Stephen Ramirez Jr. of Horton, Kansas; four step-daughters, Jane Nioce of Falls City, Nebraska, Natalie Nioce of Hiawatha, Kansas, Arlene Negonsott and Roxanne Harrison both of Horton, Kansas; two step-sons, Seth Robinson Jr. of El Paso, Texas and Grant Wewenis of Mayetta, Kansas; mother-in-law, Yvonne Negonsott of Hiawatha, Kansas; three brothers, Ron Ramirez of Horton, Kansas, Daniel Ramirez of Topeka, Kansas and Johnny Lee Ramirez of Farmington, New Mexico; four sisters, Carla Cavin of Horton, Kansas, Rose Baker of Hiawatha, Kansas, Deb Juliff of Kansas City, Missouri, Elizabeth Newland of Horton, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Ramirez, grandson Kamillo Langi and brother-in-law, Jim Cavin. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the Church Of The Lord Jesus Christ Church in Horton, Kansas. The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas.
