Janet Kay Bontrager, 68, of Hiawatha, Kansas, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Hiawatha Community Hospital in Hiawatha, Kansas. She was born on July 14, 1946 in Holton, Kansas the daughter of Mirl and Gladys (Guffy) Bontrager. Janet worked for the Hiawatha Thrift Shop, Hiawatha Community Hospital and McDonald's. Janet enjoyed watching the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs. She loved playing her country music and spending time with her family. Survivors include, two brothers, Galen and Gary Bontrager both of Horton, Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Monday evening from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. Burial will be at the Wetmore Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Brown County Developmental Services in care of the mortuary.
