Theresa M. Broxterman Heiman, 85, of Seneca, died on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Life Care Center
of Seneca.

She was born February 22, 1930, on a farm west of Corning, Kansas to Albert P. and Bernadine
Ronnebaum Broxterman. 

On December 29, 1948 she married Norbert H. Heiman at St. Patrick’s Church in Corning, the couple
celebrated 61 year of marriage before his death on August 5, 2010.  The couple farmed south of Seneca.
Theresa was a gifted baker, baking beautiful cakes for birthdays, wedding and special occasions. She was
an excellent cook; she loved to garden, tend to her flowers and play cards. She enjoyed her
grandchildren very much.

She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, the St. Ann’s Altar Society and LCBA. In addition,
she was active with the Nemaha County 4-H program, serving as a leader for many years. 
 

She is survived by her sons, Pat Heiman and Robert Heiman both of Seneca; her daughter, Jean Heiman
of Seneca; a brother, Ronald J. Broxterman of Topeka, KS; and two grandchildren, Shane Heiman of
Emporia and Chandra Talerico of Hope Sound, Florida.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by infant daughters, Brenda in 1950 and Mary
Katherine in 1966; and a brother, Donald J. Broxterman.

Rosaries will be prayed on Monday, March 8th at 2 & 7 PM at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.  Mass of
Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 2 PM at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca.  Burial will be in
the church cemetery.

Memorials may be left to the Theresa Heiman Nursing Scholarship.

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Fr. Arul Carasala on March 10, 2015 at Sts. Peter and
Paul’s Catholic Church in Seneca.  The music was provided by Cyril Steinlage and Terry Nordhus. The
lector was Gina Ronnebaum. Gift bearers were her grandchildren, Chandra Talerico and Shane Heiman;
and the Eucharistic minister was Karen Steinlage. 

Carrying Theresa to her resting place in Sts. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Cemetery were her neighbors,
David J. Ronnebaum, Rick Huerter, Bob Wessel, Fred Kohake, Steve Vondemkamp and Jerry Mueting. 
Honorary Pallbearers were her nephews, John Broxterman, Kim Koerperich, Kenny Koerperich, Carl
Broxterman, Kevin Broxterman, Darrel Broxterman and Brian Broxterman.
