Marvin Scheitel, 85, of Falls City, NE, passed away March 14, 2015 at Falls City. He was born April 27, 1929 east of Falls City to the late Elmer and Amelia (Zimmerman) Scheitel.

Marvin was drafted into the U. S. Army in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1953.

On December 12, 1954 he married Patricia Richmond at Zion United Church of Christ.

Marvin was raised at Falls City and graduated Falls City High School in 1946. Following graduation he farmed with his father until he was drafted into U. S. Army. Upon his discharge he returned to Falls City and continued to farm. When married the couple established their home east of Falls City. In 1965 he purchased half an interest in Ebel Seed Company and in 1972 he purchased the whole business and changed the name to Scheitel Feed and Seed. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, northeast of Falls City, Member and P.E. R. of Falls City Elks Lodge and VFW of Falls City.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Patricia of Falls City, son, Kevin and his wife Gina of Falls City, daughter, Kari Shubert and her husband Larry of Falls City, sister, Lucille Yoesel and her husband Kenneth of Sabetha, KS, four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Wilbur and a sister, Evelyn Gatz.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Zion United Church of Christ with Reverend Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
