Rita G. Amos, 84, Atchison, Kansas passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.  

She was born August 16, 1930 in Woodston, Kansas.  She spent her entire life in Kansas growing up in Woodston and raising her family in the Stockton/Plainville area. After her children were grown, she lived in Wichita, Great Bend, Topeka and finally Atchison.  

She was a homemaker and then owned and operated a Daylight Donut Shop in Plainville, managed apartment complexes and sold insurance in Wichita, worked in the Great Bend hospital and later volunteered at St. Francis hospital in Topeka. Rita enjoyed laughing with friends, spending time with her family, and always was on the lookout for a good garage sale.  

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Dolphy Ray and Bertha (Weininger) Cooper; and three sisters, Wanda Morris, Leveta Ives and Evalee Ensley.

Survivors include three daughters: Kenda Ross (Bob), Kayla McDougall, and Kathy Brady; three grandsons: Jim Burkholder (Gayla), Michael Brady (Sarah), Zack McDougall, two granddaughters: Hayley Hummel (Jeff) and Kamille Caudle (Todd), and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, March 21st at Riverbend Bible Church, 1145 Commercial St. Atchison, Kansas. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Plainville Kansas Cemetery.
