Larry Brockhoff

Larry L. Brockhoff, 70, of rural Fairview, died Wednesday morning, April 1, 2015, at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.
 
Larry was born at the family home near Fairview, May 11, 1944, one of three children born to the late Luther and Irma Gildhouse Brockhoff and was a lifelong Fairview area resident where he grew up, attended country school, and graduated from Fairview High School. Larry farmed and raised livestock with his Dad and brother in his early years, currently farming with the next generation his son Mike.
 
Larry was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Fairview. He was devoted and active within his Church where he served as treasurer, trustee, and elder. Larry was also a devoted family man, and to care for his land. He enjoyed woodworking and attended craft shows throughout the area. Larry was a kind, gentle man, that was honest, with a great sense of humor.
 
He was married to Diane Kneisel, March 6, 1966, at Zion Lutheran Church at Hiawatha. She survives of the home.
 
Also surviving are his children: Mike (Kellie) Brockhoff, daughter Cathy Brockhoff; a brother Norman (Nancy) Brockhoff; a sister Joyce Brockhoff, all of rural Fairview; and two granddaughters: Casey and Megan; and mother in law Juanita Kneisel of Hiawatha.
 
A Celebration of Larry’s life is planned for 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 6, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha. Reverend Michael Dunaway will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha.
 
Friends may call at the funeral home after 12 noon Sunday where the family will meet with friends from 6 until 8 that evening.
