Katie Pittaway

 Katie Pittaway, 39, of Holton, died Thursday, April 2, 2015 at her home with her friends and family around her.  Katie always felt that her greatest accomplishment in life were her three children. She had a deep love for her children and her family and particularly enjoyed their summers playing ball.
 
She was born December 2, 1975 in Topeka, the daughter of John and Julia Cairl Barber.  She graduated from Topeka High School in 1994.
 
Katie worked at Tortilla Jack’s in Topeka during and after high school.  She also held numerous jobs in the health field.  She currently worked at and was passionate about her job at the Topeka High School nurse’s clinic.
 
She was raised in the Grace Episcopal Church in Topeka where she served as an acolyte.  She was currently a member of the Circleville Christian Church and was a den mother with Pack 64 of the local cub scouts.
 
Katie married Jack Pittaway, Jr. on May 15, 1999 at Grace Cathedral in Topeka.  He survives, of the home.
 
She was preceded in death by her mother and a brother, Frankie Fritz.
 
Other survivors include two sons, Dallas Pittaway and Rylan Pittaway, of the home, a daughter, Jordan Barber, of the home, her father, John Barber, Holton, two step-daughters, Joshlyn Pittaway and her daughter Addison, Iola, TX, and Seara Pittaway-Kolcasinski, husband Justin, and their children, Harper, Bently & Rolan Kolcasinski, her siblings, Howard Fritz (Paula), Dover, Russell Fritz, Tecumseh, Shawn Svoboda-Barber (Helen), Durham, NC, Matt Barber (Jessica), Topeka, John Barber, Jr., Topeka, Laura Ogle, Cincinnati, OH, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
 
Cremation is planned.  Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 11th at the Circleville Christian Church.  Inurnment will follow in the Holton Cemetery.  Per Katie's wishes, casual dress is requested.  A register book will be available to sign at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home.  Memorials are suggested to the University of Kansas Cancer Center, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 1034, Holton, KS  66436.  On-line condolences may be made at chapeloaksfuneralhome.com
