Helen Ruth Deckinger, 95, of Falls City, NE, passed away April 3, 2015 at Falls City, NE. She was born August 25, 1919 at Falls City to the late Charles and Mae (Thompson) Kratz.

On February 12, 1948 she married Ervin Deckinger at Falls City. He passed away June 19, 1995.

Helen Ruth was raised at Falls City and graduated Falls City High School in 1937. Following graduation she took employment with Woolworth Department store and worked there until becoming married and becoming a homemaker. In 1970 she became employed at Richardson Stationary Store until 1982 when she retired and helped take care of her grandchildren. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the former Immanuel Methodist Church where she was an active member until its closing.

Helen Ruth is survived by her son, Charles and his wife Jan of Falls City, sister, Betty Gruber of Salem, NE, grandchildren, Adam his wife Jessica of Kansas City, Nathan of Lincoln, NE and Jennifer Pagnano and her husband Marty of Lincoln, great-grandchildren, Ava, Elyse and Isaiah Deckinger. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Billy Kratz, sisters, Grace Marmet and Dorothy Karsten.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015 at 10:30 AM at First United Methodist Church with Reverend John Hogue officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.

Open visitation and viewing will begin on Sunday afternoon at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
