Howard E. Irick, 88, of Holton, KS passed away, Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Medicalodge Jackson County. He was born February 1, 1927 in Holton, KS, the son of Marion and Minnie A. (Eden) Irick.

Howard graduated from Holton High School in 1945. After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. He lived most of his life in the Holton community, except for 7 years in Valley Falls.

Howard was a self employed carpenter in the Holton area. He was a member of Circleville Christian Church.

He married Ruth Anne Hill on May 1, 1946 in Holton. Howard is survived by his wife, Ruth Anne of Holton, KS; his daughter, Lynnette Bruns (Ed) of Holton, KS; his son, Dennis Irick (Cindy) of Auburn, WA; his sister, Helen Schroder of North Carolina; 2 brothers, Harris Irick of Wyoming and Harry Irick of California; 3 grandchildren, Renee Drossel (Jason), Daniel Irick (Kelly) and David Irick (Vanessa); and 2 great-grandchildren, Olivia Grace Drossel and Gavin Howard Irick.

Howard was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Harold and Hollis Irick.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Holton Cemetery.  The family will greet friends from 6:30 - 7:30 Friday evening at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to Circleville Christian Church or Holton Cemetery and may be left in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
