Harvey Marvin Herrs, 82, died Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Horton, KS.  

Harvey was born on December 29, 1937, at home on the farm at Linn, KS, to Marvin and Clara Ohlde Herrs.  He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Linn, KS, on January 2, 1938, and confirmed his faith at Immanuel in 1952.  He graduated from Linn Rural High School in the class of 1956.

On August 31, 1958, he married LaDean True at Zion Lutheran Church, Linn, KS.  After high school he went to work at the Washington County Creamery in Linn as a milk truck driver.  After a few years Harvey and LaDean began farming, raising and selling purebred hogs.  He farmed until his retirement.  There were 4 children born to this union.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife LaDean in 2008, grandson Jaden Dieckmann, his brothers, Ralph and Steve Herrs, sister in laws Eunice Herrs, Jeralee Beikman, and brother in law Harold Oehmke.

Survivors are his children Kent (Joleen) Herrs, Jayne (Donald) Lehman, Dean (Connie) Herrs all of Linn and Lisa (Brad) Dieckmann, Clay Center, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, brothers DeWayne (Roberta) Herrs, McPherson, KS, Rodney (Karen) Herrs, Tonganoxie, KS, sister in law Donnette Oehmke, Linn, KS, brother in laws, Raymond Beikman, Independence, MO, Neal (Ruth) True, Downs, KS, Noel (Linda) True, Washington, KS, Bill (Connie)True, Takima, Washington, and friend Nancy Crider of Horton.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Linn, KS.  Memorial contibrutions are suggested in his name to be designated later and me be sent in care of the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary 909 Central Horton, KS  66439.
