Francis Earl Petesch, 86, of Meriden, died Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Midland Hospice Care in Topeka.
 
He was born October 30, 1933 at Valley Falls the son of Matthew Frank and Catherine C. Victor Petesch. He was a 1951 graduate of Meriden High School. Francis worked as a tire builder of  earthmover tires for Good Year Company in Topeka 37 years, retiring in 1997. He also owned and operated Bowser Meat Processing in Meriden for 30 years, as well as farming and dairy farming for 40 years in the Meriden area. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and a third degree member of Knights of Columbus Council # 7426 in Meriden. 
 
He was married to Gladys Marie Cote on August 27, 1957 at Meriden, She survives at the home. Survivors include three sons, Terry  Petesch, Meriden, Greg (Ruth) Petesch, Linwood, Scott (Julie) Petesch, Meriden, five daughters, Rita (Steve) Lavin, Berryton, Cheryl (Scott) Wellman, Meriden, Maria (Scott) Stapel, Topeka, Sonya Petesch, Meriden, Stacey (Bob) Anderson, Meriden, one sister, Evelyn Schramek, Topeka, 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracey Petesch, six brothers and two sisters.
 
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Friday, January 10, 2020 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Meriden. Burial at St. Aloysius Cemetery.  Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, January 9 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. A Knights of Columbus Rosary recitation at 5:00 PM and Parish Rosary recitation at 5:30 PM, Thursday at the Church.
