Robert “Bob” Jackson Bowser, 87, of Emmett, KS, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Tanglewood Health and Rehab in Topeka. He was born June 2, 1932 in rural Mayetta, KS, the son of Lloyd Jackson and Sarah (Bostwick) Bowser.

Bob graduated from Soldier High School in 1950. After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1952 – 1956 during the Korean Conflict as an aircraft mechanic.

 He worked for Jackson County as a heavy equipment operator for over 25 years. He was also a lifelong farmer and stockman.

 Bob was a member of St. Mary’s Bible Baptist Church.

 He married Eva Virginia DeGroff on October 23, 1959 in Onaga, KS. They celebrated over 60 years of marriage.

 Survivors include his wife, Eva Bowser; a son, Mark Bowser (Denise) of Emmett, KS; 2 sisters, Edna Starr of Topeka, KS and Barbara Amos of Olathe, KS; a brother, Larry Bowser (Alice) of Meriden, KS; 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Robert and Wayne Bowser; a sister, Ila “Mae” Martin and a brother, Clifford Bowser.

 Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Soldier Cemetery.
