Harry Thomas Jenkins, 66, of Topeka, Kansas, departed this life on Monday, July 13, 2020.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home at 2:00
P.M. with Rev. Paul Kelley officiating. The body will be cremated following services with
burial of the cremated remains at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family
will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at

Harry was born March 31, 1954 in Atchison, Kansas to Evadna B. (Brown) and Reuben D.
Jenkins. He was the fourth child born into this union of four brothers and four sisters.
Harry attended the Atchison Public Schools before heading off to Excelsior Springs Technical
School in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. He later returned to Atchison and obtained his high
school diploma.
Harry was employed by Rockwell International, Inc. in Atchison for many years before he
moved to Casper, Wyoming where he worked in construction and as a cook. He returned to
Atchison for a period before moving to Topeka and continued working construction along with
odd jobs. His health started to decline and he continued to work before deciding to retire. Once
he retired, Harry continued to work this time as he was available to help those that couldn’t
struggle energy to do for themselves. He was good at cooking when others would request that he
cook for them. This he started doing daily for whoever needed and wanted a meal. It was a
pleasure for him to help out others who needed help.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Evadna Rose and Alberta Jenkins, two
brothers Reuben Jr., and Danny Lee Jenkins, Sr. Both sets of grandparents Wilma P. (Churchill)
and Herbert Brown, Sr., and Ruth N. (McDaniel) and Harry Thomas Jenkins.
Harry leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Zina F. (Kelly) Jenkins, Kansas City, KS, four sons,
Joshua Jenkins, Casper, Wyoming; Jordan Knox, Casper, WY; Jeremy “JD” (Cynthi) Jenkins,
Honolulu, HI; Joseph “Joey” (Anastasia) Jenkins, Dallas, TX; step sons , Keven Kelly, Kansas
City, KS, Marcus Kelley, Lansing, KS, Jeremy Kelley, Kansas City, KS; eight grandchildren;
two great grandchildren; two brothers, Sherman (Ricky) Jenkins, Eldorado, KS; Rodney D.
Jenkins, Topeka, KS; three sisters, Crystal (Crissy) Jenkins-Cary, St. Joseph, MO; Francis
Jenkins-Jones, St. Louis, MO; Gwendolyn I. Smith-McGehee, Arkansas; four aunts, Betty Rose
Brown, Atchison, KS; Barbara Garrison, Kansas City, KS; Kathleen Jenkins-Baker, Kansas City,
MO; Jacquelyn Jenkins-Jordan, Kansas City, MO; two uncles, Thomas “TL” Jenkins, Lee’s
Summit, MO; Frank Jenkins, Kansas City, MO and a host of other relatives and friends.
