Mildred Reinecke

Mildred Emma Reinecke, 93, of Seneca died on Monday, November 2, 2020 at the Life Care Center of Seneca.

She was born on April 2, 1927, on a farm east of Seneca, to John F. and Clara Tanking Burdiek. She attended Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School in Seneca and helped on the family farm.

On April 8, 1947, she married Louis A. Reinecke at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca; the couple celebrated 72 years of marriage. The couple lived and farmed north of Baileyville until1957, when the family moved to the Reinecke family homestead southeast of Baileyville. Lou and Mildred ran a dairy herd until 1991, where they raised hogs, cattle. In 1991, Lou and Mildred retired and built a new home in Seneca.

She was a lifelong farmer and gardener, who enjoyed driving around and looking at the crops. She enjoyed playing cards, casino trips and visiting at the coffee shop during her retirement. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church; where she was a weekend collection counter and a participated in weekly adoration. She was past member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lou on February 5, 2020; three children, Marilyn, Joseph and John; and two brothers, Gerald Burdiek on October 26, 2009 and Walter Burdiek on July 5, 2010.

She is survived by three sons, Kenneth (Clara) Reinecke of Baileyville, Linus (Cheryl) Reinecke of Axtell and Galen (Sharon) Reinecke of Seneca; and sisters, Alice Kramer, Irene Kramer, and Marcina Haverkamp, all of Seneca; ten grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Mildred will lie in state at Lauer Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 for public viewing and to sign the book; the family will not be present that day.

A Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 AM on Thursday at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She will be buried next to her husband in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Baileyville. SOCIAL DISTANCING AND MASK REQUESTED.
