Sabetha , KS

Mary Lou (Wenger) Kellenberger, 82, lifelong citizen of Sabetha, Kansas, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2020 at the Apostolic Christian Home.

She was born to the late Louis and Tillie (Strahm) Wenger on May 12, 1938, and married her high school sweetheart, Danny Kellenberger, on October 28, 1956.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her husband, Danny, three daughters and two sons-in-law: Vickie and Scott Angell, Marcie Kerr, and Lesha and Rick Koch, and by her seven grandchildren: Trevor and Ashley Angell, Dustin and Lynelle Angell, Gavin and Janice Angell, Jacob and Rachel Kerr, Kelsi and Jacob Strahm, Kaleb and Alyssa Koch, and Kasha and Chris Rebant, and by her 14 great-grandchildren.

Mary Lou and Danny loved to travel and enjoyed taking annual cruises to the Caribbean and combined her love for family and travel with many memorable family vacations and trips with friends. She enjoyed spending her days with her family helping wherever she could, always willing to sacrifice her time and energy to help others, and often seeing what others needed before they were aware of needing help. Mary Lou was very loyal and went above and beyond in caring for her family and friends without expecting anything in return.

She committed her life to the Lord as a young adult and was a long-time member of Northridge Church, Sabetha. She was a member of Chapter EB of PEO, Sabetha, and a stockholder of her family’s business, Wenger Manufacturing, serving on the Board of Directors for several years. She was a homemaker and always faithful to “coffee time” with friends.

Mary Lou leaves many family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Mary Lou will be lying in state on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha.

Private Family Service will be held Thursday, December 31, 2020.  The interment will be made in the Albany Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the NorthRidge Church, sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia, Sabetha, Kansas 66534.
