Robert John “Bob” Schneider, 80, of Nortonville, KS, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at The University of Kansas Health System- St. Francis Campus in Topeka, He was born November 26, 1940 in Effingham, KS, the son of Celestine J. Schneider, Sr. and Mary Armella (Herbers) Schneider.

Bob graduated from Nortonville High School in 1958. He was a farmer. Bob along with his wife Linda, own and operate Western Auto/Western Hardware and Auto in Valley Falls from 1985 until present.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and a 61year member of Knights of Columbus Council #2093 District 4 both in Nortonville.

Bob married Linda J. Miller on April 18, 1964 in Troy, KS. They celebrated over 56 years of marriage.

Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home;3 daughters, Angela Langston (Ronald), Kristina Zitek (Dan) and Tamra Cutshall (Monte) all of Nortonville, KS; 1 sister, Donna Moranville (Marty) of Westminster, CO; 3 brothers, David Schneider (Rhonda) of Nortonville, KS, Mike Schneider (Luana) of Atchison, KS and Dennis Schneider of Topeka, KS; 9 grandchildren, Melissa, Justin, Heather, Dallas, Staci, Makayla, Mercedes, John David and Roman and 8 great-grandchildren, Madison, Chance, Emily, Leighton, Lexis, Brody, Brantley and Ryker.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 sisters, Alice Schneider, Pauline Durkin, Darlene House, Glenda Frye and Marilyn Siebenmorgan and 3 brothers, Celestine Jr, Tom and Donnie Schneider.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Nortonville with burial to follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. at the church. Bob will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2021 at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Memorials may be given to the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 6, Valley Falls, KS 66088. Masks will be mandated.
