Ellen Keo, 28, of the Kickapoo Reservation, passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021 in Topeka, Kansas.

She was born on November 17, 1992 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Rudy Keo and Bobbie Ann Whitewater. Ellen graduated from Kickapoo Nation School in Powhattan, Kansas. She went to upward bound at Haskell Indian Junior College in Lawrence, Kansas. She played softball for the local little league team. Ellen lived on the Kickapoo Reservation all her life. She worked for the Kickapoo Tribe fire department and most recently worked for the Johnsonville plant as a maintenance technician.

Ellen was a member of the Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas and of the Sac-N-Fox of Oklahoma bloodline. She loved hand fishing down at the creek, always caught a few good ones. She liked going mushroom hunting and going out doors.

Ellen is survived by her parents, Rudy Keo and Bobbie Ann Whitewater; two daughters, Isabella Keo and Kah-Ke-O-Thah-Quah Keo; grandmother, Mary Castro; four brothers, Jason Shopteese, Dominic Masqua, Jeremy Keo and Terry Keo; two sisters, Jessica Masqua and Stacy Keo; uncles, Dennis Keo, Ronnie Keo, Demeico Castro, Anthony Castro and David Castro; aunts, Noreen Keo, Maureen Keo, Toney Robles, Katherine Embley and Georgia Stafos; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Aileen Wahwassuck and Keith Keo.

Wake services will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 with visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at her parents home, 1146- 113th Drive on the Kickapoo Reservation.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Anderson-Negonsott Cemetery. A special message may be sent to the family at www.dishon-maple-chaney.com
