Gregory Fangman, 62, of Seneca, Kansas, died at his home on April 22, 2021 after battling cancer since 2015.

He was born in Seneca, Kansas on August 28, 1958, the son of Mark and Rosalia Fangman. He graduated from B & B High School in 1976.

On July 31, 1982, he married Judy Suther at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort, KS. The couple farmed and raised their family northeast of Seneca.

Greg was a farmer, stockman, and dairyman. He enjoyed farming and took great pride in his profession and life’s work. Greg collected John Deere toys and passed down his love of John Deere to his sons.

Greg was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca, and lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1769.

His greatest passion was the love of family. He cherished spending time both working alongside and playing with each of them, especially his beloved grandchildren. Greg and Judy enjoyed going country cruising and riding around in the gator.

Greg is survived by his wife Judy of the home; four children, Amy (Dustin) Eichler of Parkville, MO, Michael (Michelle) Fangman of Seneca, KS, Andrea (Max) Harder of Virginia, NE, Matthew (Jessica) Fangman of Spring Hill, KS; his brothers, Stephen Fangman of Seneca, KS, Robert (Lisa) Fangman of Ottawa, KS and Joe (Laurie) Fangman of Cosby, MO; his sisters, Judy Schmelzle of Olathe, KS, Diane (Fred) Strunk of Shenandoah, IA, Mary Beth (Gerard) Steinlage of Seneca, KS, Alice (Joe) Sperfslage of Sabetha, KS, and Jane (Duane) Tanking of Seneca, KS; and six grandchildren, Mary, Monica, and Veronica Eichler, Noah and Emma Harder and Leo Fangman.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mark in 2009 and Rosalia in 2012, and brother-in-law Bill Schmelzle in 2018.

Rosaries will be prayed Sunday, April 25th, at 2pm and 7pm at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 26th at 10am at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial will be at Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery.
