Rose Marie Hladky, 80, of Soldier, KS, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at her home with family by her side. She was born August 21, 1940 in Holton, KS, the daughter of Roy J. and Arlene (Gunselman) Moore.

          Rose graduated from Holton High School in 1958. She worked as a CNA at Holton Hospital in the 1970’s, she worked as secretary for Jackson County Storm Spotters for over 22 years. She also worked at various restaurants; including Coach House Café, Sharp’s Diner and S & A Café. She retired from Walmart after 10 years. Rose took pride as a homemaker and mom.

          Rose married Bailey Edward “Boots” Hladky on June 6, 1959 in Holton, KS. They celebrated over 61 years of marriage.

          Survivors include her husband, Bailey “Boots” of the home; 4 daughters, Lisa Allen of Soldier, KS, Esther K. Essary of Holton, KS, Sherri A. Immenschuh “Larry” of Soldier, KS and Jada L. Arnold (James) of Muskogee, OK; son, Roy L. Hladky (Gertrud) of Germany; 3 sisters, Elaine Torbett of Atchison, KS, Mary Mick of Holton, KS and Teresa Emmons (Myron) of Horton, KS; brother, Joseph “Joe” Moore (Jackie) of York, NE; 20 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

          She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Arlene Moore; son, Larry Hladky on February 28, 2020 and 2 brothers, William “Bill” and James “Jim” Moore.

          Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2021 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow at the Olive Hill Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Jackson County Storm Spotters c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
