Doris Nolte Roeder, 95, of Topeka, died Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the Lexington Park Nursing Home in Topeka.

Doris was born on November 1, 1925, in Baileyville to Bertha (Noll) and John Nolte, Sr. She graduated from Baileyville Grade School, graduating from the 8th grade. As a young woman Doris helped on the family farm for a few years before being employed by Harsh Drug Store. She was at the drug store for 5 years before going to work at Strathman Department store. After she was married, she worked for American Legion at the Seneca Lake.

She married Raymond L Roeder on January 16, 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baileyville. In 1973, the couple made their home in Topeka.

Her greatest pride in her life was her children and her grandchildren, family and important part of her life. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, gardening and crocheting. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church and the St. Anne’s altar society all in Topeka.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray on May 9, 2013; her daughters-in-law, Stephani Roeder and Diana Roeder; her siblings, Aurelia McElroy, Audrey Stattelman, Virgil Nolte, Paul Nolte, Helen Broxterman, Blanche Lackey, Carmelita Huls, and Donna Mae Weaver.

She is survived by her children, Darrel Roeder of Topeka, Joyce (Gene) Estes of Topeka, Donald Roeder of Omaha and Dwayne (Susie) Roeder of Topeka; a brother, John Nolte of Overland Park, Kansas; ten grandchildren, Stanton Estes, Sheila (Korey) Klover, Heather Winegartner, Bryan (Marcy) Merritt, David (Roxie) Lytle, Christopher Roeder, Chassidy Bryan, Chelsy (David ) Gechter, John Waylon ( Ashlee) Roeder, Ashley Zerbe; and eleven great-grandchildren, Addison, Briley, Casson, Kyler, Kourtney, Keegan, Trinity, Haylee and Isaiah.

A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 ASM, prior to the Mass of Christian Burial. The Mass will be offered at 10 AM on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Sts. Peter and Paul’s Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are for Elara Caring Hospice and/or the Lexington Park Nursing Home, to be sent in care of the family.
