Ronald Lee “Red Bone” Bone, 69, of Mayetta, KS, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021 at Stormont Vail Hospital. He was born July 28, 1951 in Topeka, KS, the son of Richard James and Kathleen Mae (Lewis) Bone.

Ron graduated from Mayetta High School in 1969. He was a heavy equipment operator for most of his life; working for Keim Trucking, Meier’s Ready Mix, Wildcat Construction, Jackson County Road and Bridge and K-State Agronomy Dept. Ron most recently retired from Prairie Band Potawatomi Road and Bridge in May 2021; after 18 years.

He was a member of ABATE.

Ron married Linda Marie Collier on May 14, 1982 in Miami, OK. They celebrated over 39 years of marriage.

Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home; daughter Lori Smith (Glen) of Raytown, MO; son, R.J. Bone (Jeaniel) of Holton, KS; sister, Nancy Johnson of Topeka, KS; brother, Richard “Dick” A. Bone (Patty) of Mayetta, KS and 6 grandchildren, Austin, Ashton, Catie, Ronan, Wyatt and Tucker.

 Family will greet friends 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Graveside Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2021 at Hoyt Cemetery.
