Ralph L Scholl, 97, of Falls City, NE, passed away June 20, 2021 at the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home in Bellevue, Nebraska.   He was born February 17, 1924 in the township of Barada, NE to William and Minnie (Luehring) Scholl.  Ralph attended school in the Williamsville area near Barada.

Ralph was a World War II veteran, entering the US Army in 1943.  He was on active duty from August 1944 – July 1946 and served in the European Theatre of Operations from January 1945-June 1946.  Ralph was a Corporal in Company C of the 405th Infantry Regiment and participated in the Rhineland and Central European Campaigns.  He earned the high honor and right to wear the Combat Infantry Badge as well as being awarded the Europe-Asia-Middle East Theatre Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory and Army of Occupation Ribbons.  Upon his discharge from the Army, Ralph returned home and attended the National Trade School in Kansas City, MO receiving mechanical training and was employed in the Falls City and Hiawatha area.  Upon retirement, he operated a small engine repair shop.   

He married Mary Ann Bauman on July 20, 1957 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Falls City, NE. 

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Wilma Kentopp and Evelyn Pesino, brother, Robert Scholl, and a brother in-law, Kenny Cleveland.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of Bellevue, formerly of Falls City, daughters, Marjorie Determan and her husband Jim of Lincoln, NE, Janet Mumaugh and her husband Mark of Rogers, AR,  sister, Alice Cleveland of Indianapolis, IN, grandchildren, Jenny (Tyrel) Wieseler of Lincoln, NE, Michelle (Mike) Ruba of Shawnee, KS, Lindsay Determan of Denver, CO, Mike Mumaugh of Houston, TX, Megan Mumaugh of Omaha, NE, three great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Fr Lawrence Stoley as the presiding priest. Interment will be in the Falls City Catholic Cemetery with military gravesite honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

A parish Rosary will be recited 1 hour prior to Mass at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
