Margaret Casey

Margaret E. Casey, 94, passed away at Life Care of Seneca, Kansas on
Friday, July 16, 2021.  Margaret was born the oldest child of Frank M. and Mary J. (Fuqua) Dickey on June 16, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Margaret was a graduate of Quenemo High School and school of nursing at Grace Hospital in Hutchinson, Kansas as a Cadet Nurse.  She was united in marriage to Cletus W. Casey on September 8, 1950 in Topeka, Kansas.  

Margaret was a retired Registered Nurse at the Onaga Community Hospital for 25 years and worked at the V.A. Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.  She also volunteered at the Mission in North Topeka for 20 years and a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.  She enjoyed crafts, ceramics, crochet and knitting.  She also drew and painted.  

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, and a sister, Helen Oshel. 

She is survived by her children, Ron Casey and his wife, Cathy of McCracken, Kansas; Deb Rivard and her husband, Frank of Stockbridge, Michigan; Gale Sanders and her husband, Lee of Baileyville, Kansas; a sister, Rosalyn Goodman of Topeka, Kansas; a brother, Howard Dickey and his wife, Martha of Richmond, Kansas; Margaret’s pride and joy, her grandkids, Megan Sanders of Seoul, South Korea; Devin Sanders and his wife, Hannah of Baileyville, Kansas, Alex, Catherine and John Casey all of McCracken, Kansas and great grandchildren, Kaleah, Kamden and Briggs Sanders of Baileyville, Kansas.

Memorial service will be held Friday, July 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Corning, Kansas.  Inurnment will be made in the Corning Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Trinity United Methodist Church of Corning sent in care of the Popkess Memorial Chapel, 814 Castle Seneca, Kansas 66538. www.popkessmortuaries.com
