Dorothy “Darlene” Doty, 77, of Horton, Kansas, went to be with the Lord on July 15, 2021, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. She passed away due to complications of a motor vehicle accident.

She was born on August 21, 1943 in Muscotah, Kansas, the daughter of Elmer and Goldie Walker Lloyd of Muscotah KS. On March 3, 1973 she married James Larry Doty in Willits, California. She is preceded in death by the love of her life James Larry Doty, her parents Elmer and Goldie Lloyd, a daughter Melinda Anderson, sisters, Isabell Merz, Mary Oldecker, Bessie Jones and Lois Siebenmorgan. Dorothy was a member of Muscotah United Church. She worked at Boeing for 23 years. After her retirement Jim and Dorothy moved to Kansas. She enjoyed sending cards to church members and spending time with family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma and aunt.

She is survived by her kids, Cassandra Perz (Raul) of Willits, California, James Timothy Doty of Lakewood, Washington, Shelly Hooper (Ron) of Puyallup, Washington, James Leroy Doty of Hiawatha, Kansas, Pamela Grace (Jim) of Charlestown, New Hampshire, and Charles William Doty (Andrea) of Huron, Kansas. One brother, Sam Loyd of Maybank, Texas and a sister, Sharon Dexter of Hiawatha, Kansas, 17 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. at the Muscotah United Church on Saturday, July 31, 2021 where the family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M until service time.
