Lucylle Charlene (Ingwerson) Cannon, 89, of Sabetha, KS, formerly of Goff, KS, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 at her home. She was born April 13, 1932 in Pawnee City, NE. She was the eldest daughter of six children born to Elmer and Paraleigh (Ramsey) Ingwerson.

Lucylle graduated from Goff Rural High School in 1950.

She married Milburn Cecil “Bud” Cannon on June 5, 1949 at the Methodist Church at Goff, KS, this was their home for 43 years. She and Bud were married 61 years until his untimely death caused by a DUI driver in 2010.

They had 2 children, Kenneth Wayne Cannon (Connie) of Mulvane, KS and Barbara Ann Heffner (Les) of Rushville, IL and Sedona, AZ. They raised 3 foster sons, Keith, Rick and Steve Orender. Keith and Steve are deceased. Rick lives at Russell, KS. Other survivors include 1 sister, Suzanne Sullivant of Climax Springs, MO; brother, Charles Ingwerson of Creighton, MO; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Kirk of Goff, KS; 5 grandchildren, Amber Heffner, Corri Heffner, Jaime Heffner-DeWitt, Lesley LaRock and Kristofer Cannon; 14 great-grandchildren, Alexis, Lance, Jarred, Carson, Reese, Ellie, Jack, Sam, Emma, Anisten, Meara, Ramsey, Sareff and Chloe; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her father, Elmer Ingwerson in 1985; mother, Paraleigh Ingwerson in 1992; brother, Jerry; sisters, Darlene and LaVonne; grandson, Kirk Cannon in 2010; 2 foster sons, Keith Orender in 2006 and Steve Orender in 2013; sister-in-law’s, Velma Cannon and Viola Cannon; brother-in-law’s, Donald Cannon, Walter Kirk, Don Chase and Glen Sullivant.

Lucylle was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Society in Sabetha, LLL and Friendly Neighbors, Home Extension Units (until they disbanded), Jackson County Friends of Hospice. She belonged to many bridge clubs, was an avid bowler in years past and her teams won many trophies. She and Bud always had a large garden, she embroidered large crib size baby quilts for 6 of her grandchildren and 14 for great-grandchildren, and also made large quilts for her son and daughter.

Lucylle will lie in state Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.  Private Family Funeral Services will be Monday, August 16, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Goff.
