Gary Lee Meader, 85, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 1, 1936 to Elmo and Eleanor (Hinton) Meader in Pawnee City, Nebraska.

He attended a country school through the 8th grade. Then, he graduated from Pawnee City High School in 1954. In 1955, he moved to Atchison, Kansas for work and met the love of his life, Helen Lewman. They were married on July 13, 1957. They moved to Seneca, Kansas in 1959 where they raised their four sons.

After retirement, Gary and Helen moved to Sabetha, Kansas in 2014.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Elmo and Eleanor; a son, Douglas; and a sister, Joyce Meader.

Gary is survived by his wife, Helen, of 64 years of Sabetha; sons, Rick (Donna) of Topeka, Kansas, Brian (Tony) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Mike (Beth) of Sabetha; two granddaughters, Kimberly (Dylan) and Kaitlyn; and one grandson, Wyatt.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary. Interment will be at the Seneca Cemetery.
