Joe Kidd

Joe B. Kidd, 90 of Everest, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at his home surrounded by his long-time fur baby, Sammie and his family by his side.

Joe was a kind soul who made an unforgettable impression on everyone. He was quiet, yet had a subtle, surprising wit. Joe was born on March 19, 1931 in Valliant, Oklahoma the son of Lloyd and Alta Mae Story Kidd. He was raised in Broken Bow, Oklahoma until he graduated from high school in 1950. He attended Draughons Business School in Dallas, Texas and later proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He received an honorable discharge in 1952. Joe worked as a purchasing agent for Boeing in Wichita and later for Tyson Food in Broken Bow, Oklahoma until he retired, he had many other jobs in between. Joe’s “little girl puppy”, Samantha was his loyal sidekick. He was rarely seen without her.

Joe is survived by his son, Joe “Bob” (Sue) Kidd Jr. of Everest, Kansas; a daughter, Sarita (Craig) Cooper of Celina, Texas; five grandchildren, Haley (Rob) Williams of Anna, Texas, John Paul Kidd of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Crystal (Marco) Ugge of Frisco, Texas, Kate (Clay) Spanger of Shawnee, Kansas and Alex (Nikki) McAfee of Sabetha, Kansas; fourteen great grandchildren, Everett, Cash, Isabella, Brayden, Tegan, Gabriel, Liliana, Roman, Jetta, Clara, MacKenzie, Alexis, Skylar and Christian. Joe is also survived by many nieces and nephew, who thought dearly of him. They are Nancy, Paul, Mark, Kathy, Shelby, Joey, Charla, Maria, Kelly, Russell and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and step father, Burt Dodd, sisters, Kathryn Kidd, Denise Beach, great nephew, Jason Willingham and nephew, Shelby Gene Beach.

Joe was the patriarch of his family for many years and will forever be in our hearts.

A memorial service is planned in Everest, Kansas and Broken Bow, Oklahoma where he will be laid to rest, at a later date. A special message may be sent to the family at
