Doris Ann Strathman, age 89, died Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Hiawatha, KS.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to assist with her services and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with whom funeral care has been entrusted.

Doris was born on December 24, 1931, in Dearborn, Missouri, the daughter of Earl and Hazel (Atterbury) Arnold. She attended elementary school in Maysville, Missouri.

She and Leonard H. Strathman were married on August 8, 1953, at Sacred Heart Church in Atchison, Kansas. He preceded her in death on October 14, 2009.

Doris was a member of the Atchison Nazarene Church. She enjoyed being a homemaker, caring for her family and working out in her yard.

She is survived by a niece, Yvonne Murrow; nephews, Eli Duwaine Arnold, Dan Arnold, Nathan Arnold; and a brother, Clarence “Happ” Arnold.

She is preceded in death by her husband; a son, Ronnie Strathman; a daughter, Melissa Strathman; two sisters, Cora Catherine Arnold, Wenniford Maxine Youngworth; and three brothers, Eli Arnold, Earl Arnold and Elmer Arnold.
