Robert “Bob” Leon Holt, Sr., 76, of Mayetta, KS passed away Friday, December 17, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 22, 1945 in Topeka, KS, the son of Paul and Blanche Cornelia (Sheley) Holt.

On November 10, 1962, Robert was united in marriage to Karen H. Brown in Topeka, KS. They shared over 59 years of marriage. To this union they shared four children; Della, Jessica, Brenda & Robert Jr.

Robert worked over 31 years for the Kansas Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 2001.

He served in the United States Army from 1964-1967 during the Vietnam War. Robert was a member and Past President of the Holton VFW Post #1367 and he was also a member of the Mayetta American Legion Post #410.

Robert was preceded death by his parents; 2 infant daughters, Carol and Sharon Holt; son, Daniel Holt; and a sister, Jessie Holt

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Karen Holt of the home; 3 daughters, Della Tillman (Zane) of Wakarusa, KS, Jessica Horr (Brian) of Holton, KS and Brenda Johnson (Mike) Mayetta; 1 son, Robert Leon Holt Jr. (Heather) of Mayetta, KS; 1 brother, John Holt (Dorothy) of Topeka, KS; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 “on the way” and numerous extended family members.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, KS. The burial with Military Honors will follow at the Hoyt Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5-7:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
