Chad Michael Baker, 38, of Seneca, passed away on December 23, 2021 at Kansas City Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Chad was born on April 19, 1983 at Nemaha Valley Community Hospital to Melvin and Mary Jane Gronquist Baker. He grew up in Seneca and attended Nemaha Valley Elementary, Junior High and High School. He graduated with the Class of 2001. He attended Cloud County and then Kansas State University obtaining in 2006 his Agricultural Bachelors of Science in Animal Nutrition. He returned to Seneca and worked from Nemaha County Co-Op in the warehouse. In 2013, he became Seneca’s Farm Bureau Agent; he enjoyed this career move and the customers he served.

He married Anna Friedrichs on November 23, 2013 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church; to this union two beautiful children were born. Chad thrived being a father and took great pride in providing for his family. His children were his “world.” He spent his free time golfing and was a past Board Member of Seneca Spring Creek Golf Course. Chad was always there to help relatives and friends. He was outgoing and loved to have fun and a good time; he could talk to anyone.

Chad was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Good Shepard School Board. Chad was Baptized by Pastor Jack Kirk July of 2013 and was confirmed in 2014.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rollin C. Baker on January 1, 1996, Janet Holden Baker on February 12, 1989, Gleed Q. Gronquist on April 3, 1988 and Clara Burton Gronquist on February 24, 2009.

Chad is survived by his wife, Anna of eight years; his children, Audrey and Henry; his parents, Melvin and Mary Jane Baker of Seneca; his sister, Casa (Nathan) Caffrey of Lillis; his in laws, Phil and Lana Friedrichs of Breman; nieces and nephews and extended family.

Chad will lie in state all day on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 401 Arrowhead, Breman, Kansas. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorial may be left to Audrey and Henry’s Education Fund, sent in care of the family,
