Susan " Sue" Haug

Susan “Sue” C. Haug, 76, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the Eastridge Nursing Facility in Centralia, Kansas.

She was born to Omer E. Haug and Lucille M. (Noll) Haug on June 29, 1945 in Seneca, Kansas.

After graduating from Saints Peter and Paul High School in Seneca, Sue attended Sacred Heart College/Newman University and Wichita State University earning her Bachelor of Science degree.  She also attended Kansas State University and received her Master of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Pathology.  Following her studies and throughout her career, Sue taught at the Institute of Logopedics Clinic in Emporia for nine years.  Then, she worked for USD #380 including Corning, Centralia, Frankfort, Axtell, Summerfield, Bern, St. Benedict, Baileyville, and Seneca for 33 years.

Sue spent her life serving God, her family, her church, her students, and her community.  She touched many lives throughout her lifetime.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings:  Bobbie (Gilbert) Osterhaus, Cotton (Charlotte) Haug, Sister Connie Haug, George Haug, Larry (Mary Ellen) Haug, and Geriann (Ron) Henry. 

She is survived by the following siblings:  Sister Dominic Haug of Great Bend, Kansas; Dora (Bill) Cross of Centralia, Kansas; Jeanne (Tom) Heiman of Wichita, Kansas; Mike (Betty) Haug of Seneca, Kansas; Mary Haug of Centralia, Kansas; Regina (Ed) Aldrine and Cathie Wynkoop both of Topeka, Kansas; she is also survived by LOTS of nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca, Kansas.  The body will lie in state at the Popkess Memorial Chapel in Seneca, Kansas on Monday, January 3, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m.  The interment will be made in the Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to a fund yet to be designated by the family and sent in care of Popkess Memorial Chapel, 814 Castle, Seneca, Kansas  66538.  Online condolences can be left for the family at www.popkessmortuaries.com
