William " David " Lott
Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton

William “David” Lott, 72, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 after a long battle with cancer at his daughter’s home in Hoyt, Kansas. He was born on May 17, 1949 in Farley, Missouri the son of Jack and Ila Irey Lott Sr.

David worked for Goodyear in Topeka, Kansas for 42 years before retiring.  He loved spending time with his family at all the family gatherings, reading, fishing and running bank lines in his earlier years. After his retirement he loved being outdoors mowing, tending to his garden which he was very proud of his tomatoes he raised and he got a lot of enjoyment in sharing them with his family, neighbors and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Shelley (Sam) OloKungboye of Topeka, Kansas and Toni (Brian) Mattwaoshshe of Hoyt, Kansas; two sisters, Connie (Donnie) Werner of Horton, Kansas and Gay (Russ) Schuetz of Holton, Kansas; two brothers, Jack (Janice) Lott Jr. of Horton, Kansas and Aaron (Shari) Lott of Horton, Kansas; twenty four grandchildren and great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Judy Holthaus.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Burial will follow the services at the Horton City Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Dave Lott memorial fund to be designated later and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
