Paul Wenston Long, 82, of Meriden, KS, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022 at North Kelly House in Meriden, KS. He was born August 1, 1939 in Mitchellville, TN, the son of William “Billy” and Lora (Roberts) Long.

Paul proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1956 until 1960. He attended Coal Creek Methodist Church in Valley Falls. Paul enjoyed volunteering at the Combat Air Museum in Topeka.

He worked at the State of Kansas for over 35 years. Paul worked in various positions to include KNI, Corporation Commission, Health & Environment, and KDOT.

Paul married June Eileen Flory on June 20, 1958 in Valley Falls, KS. They celebrated over 63 years of marriage.

urvivors include his wife, June of the home; 4 children, David Long of Aurora, IL, Cindy Long of Lyndon, KS, Sandy Ard of Topeka, KS and Jerry Long of Topeka, KS; brother, Daniel Long of Lebanon, TN; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded by his parents, Billy and Lora Long; son, Alan Long; sister, Christina Alcorn and 3 brothers, Walter, William “Pee Wee”, John Long, and a granddaughter, Danielle Romesburg.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial with military honors, conducted by Grahem-Herbers V.F.W. Post 3084, will follow at Coal Creek Cemetery in Valley Falls. Family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Casual attire is requested.
