Roy Kranz, 84, of Circleville, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

He was born on March 17, 1938 at the family’s home south of Circleville.  He graduated from Circleville High School in 1956 and had served in the U.S. Army National Guard.

Roy worked for the Jackson County Road and Bridge Department for a total of thirty-one years.  He had also worked for Hamm Construction and had owned and operated Kranz Soil Conservation.  He retired from Jackson County on December 24, 2021.

He was a member of the Circleville Christian Church, Circleville Masonic Lodge No. 20, AF&AM, and had served on the Circleville City Council for eight years.

He married Beverly J. Robison on July 5, 1968 at the Circleville Christian Church.  She survives, of the home.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Ruth Ann Swindale, a granddaughter Felicia Anne Kranz, who was stillborn, and a grandson, Joshua Earl Kranz, who died in 2012.

Other survivors include one son, Charles Kranz (Doreen), Topeka; two daughters, Debbie Kranz, Topeka and Kathy Kranz, Holton; four grandchildren, Shawna Blackwood (Brock), Brandon DeVader (Jessica), Chuck Kranz (Ashley) and Brooke Johnson (Paul), and ten great grandchildren, Cori, Carson, Gage, Madison, Brynley, Paul Cody, Liam, Tate, Jadie and Lincoln.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 26th at the Circleville Christian Church.  Cremation will follow the service.  Inurnment will be at a later date in the Circleville Cemetery.  Roy will lie in state after noon on Monday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton where family and friends will meet from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Memorials are suggested to the Circleville City Park, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 1034, Holton, KS  66436.  On-line condolences may be made at chapeloaksfuneralhome.com.
