Phyllis Ann Mathewson, 88, of Axtell, KS, died April 24, 2022, at Oakley Place in Seneca, KS.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 27, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Axtell-Landreth Funeral Home in Axtell

A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Axtell.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 28, at St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Burial will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery.

Phyllis was born September 24, 1933, to Stephen and Margaret (Mitchell) Glynn, on the family farm near Axtell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; son, James Mathewson; brother, Gerald Glynn; and sister, Patricia Kramer.

Survivors include her children, Elaine (Ted) Sears, Salina, KS, Robert (Lisa) Mathewson, Axtell, Donald Mathewson, Summerfield, KS, Jane (Tim) Rottinghaus, Baileyville, KS, and Michael (Lisa) Mathewson, Summerfield; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Mathewson, Axtell; sister, Gladys Koch, Seneca; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established to the Axtell American Legion.  Contributions may be sent in care of the Axtell-Landreth Funeral Home.
