Barbara Jean “Kee-Weh-Tah” Simon, 79, of the Kickapoo Reservation, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at her home on the Kickapoo Reservation.

She was born on February 14, 1943 in Horton, Kansas the daughter of Adolph Cadue Sr. and Gladys Wabski. After graduating from high school she went to beautician school. She worked as a beautician, cook and as a child care provider. She was a member of the Kickapoo Tribe and Drum Religion.

Survivors include a daughter, Sheryl Jean Simon of Horton, Kansas; three sons, Curtis (Pamela) Simon Sr., Joseph (Leanda) Simon and James Simon all of Horton, Kansas; sister, Sandy Bowen of Atchison, Kansas; brother, Eugene Wabski of Kansas City, Missouri; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Shirley Wahwahsuck and Bonita Wabski, two brothers, Adolph Cadue Jr. and Gerald Cadue.  

Drum services will be at Clyde & Ann Horned Eagle’s home on the Kickapoo Reservation on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 6:00 P.M. Burial will be at the Mason Cemetery on Tuesday. A special message may be sent to the family at www.dishon-maple-chaney.com
