Linda Annette (Woodruff) Schuetz

Linda Annette (Woodruff) Schuetz of Horton, Kansas passed away on May 18, 2022 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri after a year- long battle with cancer. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

Linda was born to Norval B. and Mildred L. (Gallop) Woodruff on November 3, 1941 at the Horton Hospital. She graduated from Horton High School in May of 1959 and married Ronald J. Schuetz on June 6, 1959.

Linda worked as a bookkeeper for many years at the elevator in Horton. She later worked in various doctor's offices in Horton and Hiawatha. Linda was also a bookkeeper for her husband Ron's farm, cattle and seed business up until Ron's passing. Linda enjoyed reading and sharing her great wealth of trivia knowledge with her family and friends. She was witty, funny, kind and she played a mean game of Scrabble. She always gave the best hugs.

She mostly enjoyed spending time with her loving family. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Ron on August 8, 1995.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Patti (Scott) Biegler of Horton, Kansas, Tammi (Kevin) Shotwell of Kansas City, Missouri and son, Joe (Deb) Schuetz of Sheldon, Iowa; brother, Gary (Carolyn) Woodruff of Topeka, Kansas; sisters, Marilyn (Tom) Willich of Mercier, Kansas, Beth (John) Reece of Parker, Colorado and Gale (Jim) Currie of Horton, Kansas. Other survivors include her seven loving grandchildren; Kaylin (Wes Hogan) Schuetz, Adam (Cassie) Schuetz, Casey (Rachel) Schuetz, Jillian Davis, Grace (Ronnie) Cunningham, Gary (Sarah) Davis and Rose Shotwell. Her ten great grandchildren, Taylor, Ryan, Wyatt, Finn, Nolan, Kolton, Kole, Wells, Bowden and one on the way.

There will be no formal services as the family will have a private Celebration of Life for Linda, per her wishes.

Friends are invited to sign a memorial book at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. It was Linda's wish to be cremated. Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery in Mercier, Kansas at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Muscotah Cancer Support Group or St. Peter's Cemetery and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
