Robert LeRoy “Bob” Williamson, 94, of Holton, KS, formerly of Netawaka, KS, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022 at The Pines. He was born February 8, 1928 in Grantville, KS, the son of Everette and Nona (Townsend) Williamson.

          Bob attended Grantville Grade School and graduated from Turner High School (Kansas City, KS) in 1946. He attended Finley Engineering College in Kansas City, KS, earning his Associated Degree. After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army during World War II, honorably discharged as Sargent.

          He lived in Basehor community for 20 years and settling in Netawaka, KS. Bob was a farmer and stockman. He also worked for Eldridge Construction in Kansas City, KS as a General Superintendent. He enjoyed fishing and wood furniture building.

          He attended Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton and Netawaka United Methodist Church.

          Bob married Carol Joy Clark on June 11, 1950 at Grinter Heights in Kansas City, KS. She preceded him in death on May 6, 2007; after 56 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Everette and Nona Williamson; sister, Jessie Mildred Williamson and a brother, Everette Williamson, Jr.

          Survivors include his children, Patricia L. Sorensen (Gary) of Holton, KS, Jerry W. Williamson (Sharon) of Tonganoxie, KS, Nanette Williamson of Holton, KS and Lonnie R. Williamson (Kathy) of Conifer, CO; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

          Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday July 5, 2022 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow at the Buster Cemetery at Oskaloosa, KS. Family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Bob will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2022.
