Nedra Ferne (Bright) Stevicks, of Falls City, NE, passed away July 21, 2022 at Falls City. She was born December 10, 1922 to Clarence E. and Minnie (Timmerman) Bright on the farm in Shubert, NE. She attended Muddy Center elementary school, Pioneer Country School for Junior High and graduated from Shubert High School in 1940. On October 10, 1940 she married Ray Kenneth Stevicks of Dawson. They were the parents of five children. They made their home in the Shubert and Stella areas where Ray worked for the farmers. They then moved to Bern, KS and then to Miles Ranch to work there and in the early 50’s rented ground south and east of Dawson where they farmed, moving to Table Rock for a season and then to Dawson when Ray went to work for Richardson County.

Nedra worked at James Creamer in Falls City, Danny Dare sewing factory in Auburn and lastly at Campbells Soup where she worked for eighteen years. Ray passed away May 1, 1986 and she moved to Falls City to live with her daughter Jackie. She went back to work at Victory Village in the laundry and for Jones Brook Estates. The job she most enjoyed was being a foster grandparent in the Head Start Program where she worked until she was 898. She said the kids were the highlight of the day and could always make you smile.

Nedra was a lifelong member of Prairie Union Baptist Church. She helped with bible school, the yearly Memorial Day dinners and other programs until her health kept her from doing as much. She was also a member of Falls City DOES Drove #56 since 2001.

Nedra and Ray were blessed with and survived by five children, Lorma Jeanne Feldmann, Larry Ray (Glenda) Melvin LeRoy (Boonta), Linda Gerdes, Jackie (Steve) Lewis, twelve grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and twenty-nine great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, sisters, Norma (Richard) Kratz and one in infancy, brothers, Robert (Edna), Donald (Vera), neal (Jeannette and Mildred), sons-in-law, Terry Sailors, Gary Feldmann and Gary Gerdes.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Farley officiating. Interment will be in Prairie Union Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
